Read the passage given below and answer the questions that follow based on your understanding of the passage.
The Government employees must make use of knowledge generated in higher seats of learning. Planning Commission in its report "India as knowledge Superpower strategy for Transportation" (June 2001), has stressed upon this point. Twenty first century will be the century of knowledge. Only those nations will survive and succeed, which will build themselves by understanding the dynamics of knowledge and create true knowledge societies.
Such society has many distinct characteristics. It uses knowledge through all its constituents and endeavours to empower and enrich its people. It uses knowledge as a powerful tool to drive societal transformation. It is a learning society committed to innovation. It has the capacity to generate, absorb, dissiminate and protect knowledge and also use it to create economic wealth and social good for all its constituents. It enlightens its people to take an integrated view of life a fusion of mind, body and spirit.
Knowledge society in this century will have three key drivers. The first will be driven by societal transformation for a just and equitable society. The societal transformation will primarily be centred on education, health care, agriculture and governance. This transformation will encompass higher employment generation, higher industrial growth, higher national efficiency and productivity, higher empowerment of women, creation of a truly transparent society and generation of significant rural prosperity.
The second is wealth generation. The third will be driven by protection of knowledge, not only the one generated in its research laboratories but also its traditional knowledge generated by our communities over centuries in laboratories of life.
