Note: Answer any TWO questions out of three. All questions carry equal marks.
1. Answer the following:
a. "The liability of surety is co extensive with that of principal debtor." Explain (Marks 04)
b. Manoj as a surety for Pawan, makes a bond jointly with Pawan to Chinmaya, to secure a loan from Chinmaya to Pawan. Afterwards Chinmaya obtains from Pawan a further security for the same debt. Subsequently Chinmaya gives up the further security. Is Manoj discharged from liability? State the statutory provisions and the reasons for your answer.

a. delivered a horse to 'Yashmin' for his own riding without any charge. The horse runs away 'Yashmin' is thrown and injured. State the statutory position in each of the following situations:
i. If Ahmad does not know that horse was vicious.
ii. If Ahmad disclosed the fact that the horse was vicious.
iii. If Ahmad does not disclose the fact known to him that the horse was vicious.
