Art education is getting very popular in country. As an objective of growth and development, educational institutes are being set-up at every level. Traditional notion of art education has come under serious criticism and therefore, new methods of art education are being adopted. Earlier, many art-educational institute in India function under the respective State Government's control whereas very few are under the university system as one of the teaching departments. Today many new private institutions are established all over the places, which show popularity of art-education. The idea of art-education as a luxury profession no more holds ground because the policies of the government are directed to take into account every section of the society and therefore, today in art-institute we find students from every section of society. Subject of art are offered at school level as compulsory subject. Children enjoy making drawings, paintings, all kinds of objects. Their playfulness of mind is easily expressed through paintings and clay-modelling work. School level training process help children to develop their ideas and expressions. Later, some children indeed takeup art as serious subject to study. It is not mandatory that student should have learned painting or drawing at school level to enter in an art-institute. Liberal atmosphere in art-school help student to devise their ideas in a systematic manner. Students enjoy subjects like design, painting, claymodelling. They also have to understand history of art in its social and cultural context. With the technological inputs, methods of art production have gone under tremendous changes. Workmanship is a key to any process but how it is applied to transform into creative surface loaded with ambiguous surface layers etc. There are no fix rules of art like the written language. Similarly there is no fix meaning to a particular pictorial form. The contextual arrangement of any pictorial form define its meanings. So artstudents have to learn many things. No art-student can afford to turn-blind eyes to the issues of representation. Representations are multi-dimensional and contextual, they may be political or a-political but their power of expression cannot be over-looked. They involve multiple thinking. Art-students get empowered by their training process to develop their creative expressions.
