Physiological changes
Zerophthalmia
Atherosclerosis
Wasting
Give any two clinical features of Iodine deficiency disorder.
List any two functions of Sodium in our body.
Indicate two risk factors-of diabetes.
Give two food sources rich in Vitamin Kin our diet.
Name one mineral required in large amounts and one mineral required in small amounts by our body.
2. Explain the following briefly
Protein sparing action of carbohydrates
Physiological functions of food
Vitamin A plays· an important role in maintaining vision
Sprouting and fermentation influence the nutritive value of foods
3. What is a balanced diet Discuss the use of food groups and recommended dietary intakes in planning balanced diets.
4. Enumerate the nutrient needs of pregnant women in the third trimester of pregnancy.
Define 'elderly'. Describe the physiological changes occurring during this phase.
State the dietary considerations to be kept in mind while planning meals for a pre-school child.
