1. "There has been a shift during the last one century and Jurisprudence today is envisaged in an immeasurably broader and more sweeping sense. At the present juncture the term Jurisprudence may tentatively be described as any thought or writing about Law and its relation to other disciplines such as philosophy, psychology, economics, and many others." In the light of given statement, explain the following:
a. Meaning of Jurisprudence. (Marks 03)
b. Discuss the various definitions given by different Jurists and examine whether the definitions are adequate to explain the nature and scope of Jurisprudence in the contemporary times. (Marks 07)
2. "A study of the various legal systems makes it clear that law and morals have had a long union with occasional desertion and judicial separation but have never been completely divorced. There are indeed many different types of relations between law and morals and there is nothing that can profitably be singled out for study as the relation between them." In the light of given statement, explain the following:
a. Inter-relation between law and morals. (Marks 03)
b. Discuss Hart- Devlin Debate on law and morals and explain which approach must be followed in the present times. Substantiate your arguments with reference to any one of the following examples: (Marks 07)
i. Legalisation of Prostitution
ii. Rights of LGBT community
iii. Legalisation of Commercial Surrogacy
3. Write Short Notes on the Following:
a. Ancient Theories of Natural Law and their relevance in the modern times (Marks 05)
