1. Read the following passage and answer the questions given below
Gandhiji always loved his people-Muslims as much as Hindus. Even when Pakistan was
formed, he spoke for the Muslims of India who were so few in number in comparison to
Hindus. Many Hindus thought that he favoured the Muslims too much. Nathuram Godse held
misguided ideas of his kind. At a prayer meeting at Birla House in New Delhi, Godse shoot
Gandhiji on 30th January, 1948. The great soul died with 'Hey Ram' on his lips. He was
murdered, yet he was calm and peaceful even in death. It seemed as if he were sleeping.
