Question Paper

There are five questions in this section. All questions are compulsory. Each question carries two marks.

1. Enumerate the different dimensions of education for the 21st century.

2. What are the salient features of Muslim education in Medieval India

3. Explain the concept of SUPW very briefly.

4. Differentiate formal education from non -formal and informal education.

5. What do the terms LD, MR and ED stand for? Define each.

This section contains six questions out of which any four are to be attempted. Each question carries 5 marks.

6. Enumerate the different western philosophies of education. Briefly explain the main features of pragmatism.

7. Explain the four pillars of education as recommended in report of the International Commission on Education (1996) entitled Learning the Treasure Within.

8. Highlight the characteristics of the emerging Indian society.

9. Write notes on the functions of home, school, and mass media on education and development of the child.

10. Describe the broad frame work of DEE with emphasis on the concerns for achieving the UEE goals.

11. Briefly describe the classification of different aims of education.

This section contains two questions, both of which are compulsory. Each question carries 10 marks.

12. Critically examine the main recommendations of NPE relating to education upto secondary level -both formal and non -formal.
OR
Explain the concept of social stratification. Referring to India and U.K., explain caste and class systems.

13. Explain with suitable examples the concept of sustainable development. Also highlight the main features of education for all.
OR
Explain with appropriate examples the development of society through the ages.
