All the questions are compulsory.
Each section is of one hour duration and carries 20 marks.
5 marks are for viva-voce of each section separately.
Attempt only that section(s) in which you are not successful as yet.
SECTION
UNIX
1. Write and execute the following commands in UNIX: 5x1=5
To print the last 10 lines of any file.
To print the most recent status of the system like who are the current logged -in users.
To print the information about the active processes.
To create or change a password.
To delete files from a directory.
2. Write a shell program, using "grep" to locate a given string and count its no. of 15 occurrences in a file.

3. Create a table "WORKSHOP" with the following fields:
(WORKSHOP#, WORKSHOP_NAME COORDINATOR, CO_COORDINATOR, NO_OF_DAYS, VENUE, START_DATE, END_DATE, NO_OF_MAX_ PARTICIPANTS, NO_OF_RESOURCE_PERSONS, YEAR)
Select appropriate data types for the fields. Identify the primary key. Input to meaningful records.
4. For the above table in Q3, answer the following queries using SQL 5x2=10
To display all the WORKSHOPS conducted during 2015.
To display the dates of WORKSHOP# "111".
To display all the co-ordinators of workshops conducted during 2013.
To display the NO_OF_MAX_PARTICIPANTS and NO_OF_RESOURCE_PERSONS for the WORKSHOP conducted in seminar_hall on 29-08-2014 for one day.
To display the VENUE's list of all the WORKSHOPS conducted during 2012.
