4. Elucidate upon the need and importance of Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanism as a mode of settlement of dispute. Also state its advantages and disadvantages. (Marks 10)
5. "Arbitration Agreement is held to be the stepping stone in the process of arbitration."
In the light of the above statement discuss the importance of Arbitration Agreement in the process of arbitration and also discuss the touchstones on which its validity is tested. Refer to important cases. (Marks 10)
6. What do you understand by 'interim measures'? Discuss the distinction which existed between the scope and application of Section 9 and Section 17 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. Also state the effect of the Arbitration and Conciliation Amendment Act, 2015 on it. (Marks 10)
