Semester X Law of Insurance (Opt.-II)
Max. Marks: 20 Max. Time: 1:30 Hrs.
Note: Answer any TWO questions out of three. All questions carry equal marks.
1. Answer the following questions in short:- (Marks 5×2=10)
a. Premium constitutes consideration for any Insurance Contract. Explain the term Premium.
b. The uncertainty associated with a wagering contract often appears to engulf within itself an insurance contract as well. Referring to the law of Insurance comment how far the statement stands justified.
2. An insurance contract, though being a species of contracts possesses certain distinctive features of its own. Elucidate the statement highlighting the distinctive features of an insurance contract.

3. Richard being in need of money borrowed money from his friend Joseph. Joseph however agreed to give money to Richard only as loan. Richard accepted the proposal of Joseph and agreed to repay the loan within the stipulated time. Soon after the agreement between them, Richard fell seriously ill. Fearing default of payment, Joseph contemplated to take an insurance policy on life of Richard. Whether Joseph can take an insurance policy on life of Richard. Decide with explanation. (Marks 10)
