1. "Criminology is the body of knowledge regarding delinquency and crime as a social phenomenon
and it includes within it, the process of making laws, breaking laws and of reaction towards the
breaking of laws."
Critically analyse the above statement and in the light of it discuss the nature and scope of
criminology as a branch of study. Also state its importance. (Marks 10)
2. What do you mean by School of criminology? Critically discuss the Classical school of
criminology. How far the fundamental notions of this school are relevant in modern times?
