1. Poppy Private Limited invited tenders for construction of certain buildings and required such
tenders to be submitted online with digital signatures on tender as well as supporting documents.
Neha, a local contractor wants to file for tender. Advise Neha on how to get her documents
digitally signed according to the Information Technology Laws in India.
In McDomough v. Fallom McElligott 1996, the court said " …because the Web enables easy
world-wide access, allowing computer interaction via web to supply sufficient contact to establish
jurisdiction would eviscerate deprive) the personal jurisdiction requirement as it exists…thus the
fact that the defendant has a website used by residents cannot establish jurisdiction by itself".
Discuss with reliance on case laws, the relevance of the statement in present global debates on
jurisdiction in cyberspace.
Identify the difference between computer system and computer resource with help of

2. Nevada is a global network gambling company having a webpage www.Nevada.com and the
server being located at Sri Lanka. The webpage is used for advertisement on online gambling
services and has a notice in bold on being accessed that users of the webpage are required to check
with their state and local authorities regarding gambling laws before registering with Nevada. On
registration, www.Nevada.com redirects to a local server based gambling page of each domestic
country where the users can participate in gambling. Nevada has been sued in Dhaka, Bangladesh
Court for promotion of gambling which is violation of public morality laws in Bangladesh.
Determine whether the jurisdiction on Nevada can be established at the Dhaka Court as a nonresident
relying on suitable case laws.
The PKI system in India is based on trust and confidentiality among actors at different tiers of
the system. Argue for or against substantiating with sound and valid legal reasoning.
The internet's evolution is prima facie a march from "a network for effective secured
communication" to a "virtual space duplicating the real world". Trace the history of internet's

tentative list of holidays depending on previous such list of holidays of the university to all faculty
members, students and staffs from the official email ID of the Vice Chancellor due to several
requests by employees to her. Due to wide spread Swine Flu, the VC of University declares
holidays for 3 weeks for all students, faculties and staffs. So to compensate the working hours of
staff, an email is again sent by Aditi from VC's account on authorization by VC that all Saturdays
are working from 1st September for rest of semester and no holidays for staffs on Ganesh
Chaturthi, Dussehra and Diwali. The staff starts a protest saying an already declared list of
holidays had been forwarded at beginning of semester by Aditi from email id of VC. The same is
an electronic record and it can be attributed to the VC. In light of the above facts:
