Note: Answer five questions including Question No. 1 which is compulsory. The number of marks
carried by each question is indicated at the end of the question.
1. Answer the following (each answer should be in approximately 100 words): (Marks 2×10=20)
a. What are those Nationalist movements during the British period meant for women's
liberation? Name them.
b. What were the main features of radical movement for women's right? Explain them.
c. Discuss the state parties' obligation under CEDAW, 1979.
d. State the women's right to constitutional remedies.
e. The Hindu Succession (Amendment) Act, 2005 has changed the women's right to inherit
the property. Explain.
f. What are those acts amounting to domestic violence under PWDVA, 2005. Mention them.
g. What is the composition of Internal Complaint Committee?
h. What are the rights of women under International Covenant on civil and political rights?
i. What are the themes of Beijing conference of women?
j. What do you mean by Stree-Dhan'? Explain.
2. "Law is male, law is sexist and law is gendered". In the light of this statement discuss the
feminist movement. (Marks 10)
3. With the help of decided case laws discuss the rights of women under Indian Constitution.
(Marks 10)
4. "Personal laws have enough provisions for gender inequality". Comment. (Marks 10)
5. With the help of decided case laws discuss the offence of cruelty under the Indian Penal Code,
1860. (Marks 10)
6. Describe in detail the provisions to prevent sexual harassment at workplace. (Marks 10)
7. Reform from within the society is sine qua non for women empowerment. Comment.
