3. What do you understand by a data centre Discuss the organization, functions and services of
data centres. Describe its different types.
4. Explain the concepts of 'information analysis' and 'information consolidation'. Describe the
processes involved in information analysis and consolidation activities.
5. Differentiate between information sources and information resources. Enumerate the information
sources under different categories. Discuss any three information sources taking one each from
these categories.
6. Briefly discuss the important information systems and programmes available in the area of Social
Science in India.
7. Discuss the role of NISCAIR in providing information services to users.
8. Differentiate between reviews, state-of-the-art reports and trend reports. Explain their value and
benefits as information consolidation products.
9. What is document delivery service and how is it different from electronic document delivery
service Describe some of the electronic document delivery system operating at international
level.
10. Enumerate the components of mass media. Explain the role of media persons as sources of
information.
