Marks: 30 Answer any TWO of the following questions x 15 marks). Limit your answer to 250 words.
1.
Discuss in what ways the Government of India's space programme has promoted Indian economy and education system?
2.
We have been producing a large number of engineering graduates. But only 20 per cent of them are employable. Identify the reasons for this situation.
3.
We have a large pool of human resources in science and technology. But the quality of the output is not commensurate with the large size of the pool. How do you account for this phenomenon?
4.
What does, in your view, constitute comprehensive and effective science education at and higher secondary levels?
Section II Marks: 20 Write an essay of 200 words on any TWO ofthe following topics x 10 marks)
1.
Renewable sources of energy.
2.
Information and communication technologies.
3.
The relation between science and technology in contemporary times.
4.
Technology and democracy.
Section III
What is your understanding of the interrelation of science, technology and society? Marks: 5
On the basis of such an understanding formulate a research problem to carry out your doctoral research in the area of science, technology and society studies. Delineate its theoretical, methodological and operational aspects of the research undertaking. Marks: 20
