SECTION
1. Critically examine the Marxist interpretation of colonial historiography. What is the neo-liberal critique of Marxist historiography?
2. Discuss chief characteristics of Harappan cities.
3. In what ways did the agrahara and Bmhmadeya grants help in the agrarian expansion in South India?
4. State the presence of different categories of cultivators in the medieval period.
5. Write short notes on any two of the following in about 250 words each:
Early use of Iron Technology
Irrigation in early medieval period
Organisation of Karkhana mode of production in the medieval period
Abwabs/cesses in the medieval period

6. Discuss the growth of coinage during the medieval period.
7. What was the socio-economic impact of commercialisation during the colonial period
8. 'Early colonial forest policy was governed by commercial rather than conservation needs'. Comment.
9. Write a critical note on economic reforms in India since 1991.
10. Write short notes on any two of the following in about 250 words each:
Decline of ports in the eighteenth century
