Q.1 Answer the following: 14
What are the possible modes for generation of free radicals in 1,1disubstituted
olefin monomer?
What is radical scavenger? Give one example.
Match the following monomer and initiating system.
1. Sodium in Naphthalene a. vinyl chloride
2. Sulphuric acid b. acrylonitrile
3. Boron trifluride and water c. Isobutylene
4. Butyl lithium d. Methyl Methacrylate
e. Styrene
Classify the different types of co-polymers.
Show the ring opening polymerization of the Norbornene using Grubs
catalyst.
What is step growth polymer? Give on example of Polyamides.
Define the term Inhibitor.
