A D.C. series motor having of 1.5 Ω resistance between terminals runs at 1000 rpm at 230 V with an input current of 12 A. Find the motor speed when it is connected in series with a 4 Ω resistance taking same current at the same supply voltage.

Assume total iron losses equal to 60 Watt.
