Explain the operation of single phase AC voltage controller with synchronous tap changers.

For a single phase AC voltage controller feeding R-L load the input is 220V rms at 60Hz and load resistance is R=20Ω and inductance is L=50mH, the delay angle is 900, determine:
i. Expression for load current for the first half period
ii. RMS load current
iii. RMS SCR current

Discuss in brief, the effect of source inductance on three phase AC voltage controller.

With a neat circuit and relevant waveforms, explain the operation of three phase AC voltage controller with delta connected resistive load, derive an expression for RMS value of output voltage.
