Polymer Chemistry
SELECTED TOPICS IN POLYMERS
Time: 2½ Hours

Instructions: Attempt five questions. Section-I is compulsory. Attempt any two questions from Section-II Attempt any two questions from Section-III All question carry equal marks. Figures to the right indicate full marks. Use of log table and non programmable calculator is allowed.

What are the important applications of poly (vinyl cyclohexane)?
What are biocides? Explain the role of biocides in processing of rubber.
Epoxy resins are used as excellent adhesive, Give reasons.
Draw the structures of repeat unit of cellulose and amylase. Bring out basic difference in their structure.
Write any four important characteristics of good paint.
Define the term of accelerator and mention two examples with their structure.
List out any four advantages of vulcanized rubber over gum rubber.
