Answer All Questions (10X2=20)
1. Write down the syntax and example of creating an index?
2. What is public Synonym? Give an example
3. What are triggers?
4. What is exception handling?
5. How to start and shutdown a database?
6. What are 'Redolog' files?
7. How will you remove a Tablespace?
8. What is Logical Volume Manager?
9. What is the difference between Distributed Databases and Distributed processing?
10. What is a RPC?

Answer All Questions
11. What are group functions? Give example to each function.
Write the commands required to perform the following.
Create a sequence for Billno and add few rows in BIIL( BillNo, BillDate, CustomerName,BillAmount) using this Bill Number.
12. What is user defined exception? Give an example.
Write a PL/SQL object to add employee details in EMP_LOG table when a row is deleted from EMP table.
13. Write down the steps to create a database.
How will you manage 'Tempfiles'?
14. What are schema objects? Explain the management of any three scheme objects.
Write down the guidelines to be followed while using multiple Tablespaces and
assigning Tablespace quotas to users.
15. How do you use Synonyms to create Location Transparency?
Write short notes on SQL statements and COMMIT Transparency

Answer any TWO Questions (2X10=40)
16. Write the syntax and examples to the following functions in Oracle.
i)INSTR() ii) LTRIM() iii) TRUNC() iv)FLOOR() NEXT_DAY()
Write a function to find the age from data of birth. Write a procedure to
move all the retired employees from EMP table to RET_EMP table.[if the
retirement age is 58].
Use the above function to find the age within the procedure.
17. Explain the types of database administrator authentications.
Explain the components of Automatic Storage management.
18. Write down the method for specifying Link types and Link users in detail.
i)What are referential integrity constraints and Check constraints?
ii) Let the tables ACCOUNT(Accno, Name, DOB, Acct_Type, Branch_Code
and Balance)
And TRANSACTION( Trans_id, Tdate, Tamount, Ttype and AccNo)
Set AccNo in Transaction as Foreign Key,
iii) AcctType should accept Current, Savings, Joint respectively.
iv) Write the query to remove the above constraints.
