1. Attempt the following problems giving the reasons for your answers (any 14

A young lady lost her husband in an illness. The relatives of the husband
compelled her to adopt a child saying that they would not hand over the dead
body to her for further rituals unless she completes the adoption procedure.
The lady gave her consent for adopting the child. Is the consent valid
A mother and a son were the only members of the private company. They
both met with an accident and died. Will the company come to an end
A sold his business to B but this fact was not known to an old customer C.
C placed an order for certain goods to A by name. B supplied the goods to C.
Is there a valid contract
A enters into a contract with an alien to import prohibited goods. For this
purpose he borrows money from B who is aware of the purpose of loan. Is the
agreement void
Over a cup of tea in a restaurant Raju invites Sanju to a dinner at his house
on Sunday. Sanju reaches the house of Raju at the given time but Raju failed
to keep up the promise. Can Sanju recover any damage from Raju
