I. Explain the following passages in about 50 words each: (10x2=20)
1. Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard
Are sweeter; therefore, ye soft pipes, play on;
2. Ofvapours, from whose solid atmosphere
Black rain, and fire, and hail will burst: oh hear!
3. And post o'er land and ocean without rest: They also serve who only stand and wait."
4. Something is always approaching; every day Till then we say,
5. The reward of sin is death? That's hard. If we say that we have no sin, We deceive ourselves, and theres no truth in us.
6. Let school masters puzzle their brain with grammar and nonsense, and learning: good liquor, I stoutly maintain, gives genius a better discerning,
7. True madam; those who have most virtue in their mouths, have least of it in their bosom.
8. The winged seeds, where they lie cold and low,
Each like a corpse within its grave, until
Thine azure sister of the Spring shall blow
9. Though use make you apt to kill me,
Let not to that, self-murder added be,
And sacrilege, three sins in killing three.
10. If it be well weighed, to say that a man lieth, is as much to say, as that he is brave towards God and a coward towards men.
