I. Answer TEN of the following questions in about 150 words (excluding the application- oriented
questions) each: (10x10=100 Marks)
1. Write five aphorisms on the theme of 'Higher Education.'
2. Imagine that you are stranded in an alien planet and in order to escape you need to strike a conversation
with an extraterrestrial. Write down a conversation between this extraterrestrial and yourself in about
fifteen exchanges.
3. Write a sonnet featuring on the theme, 'Youth and Internet' or Personality.'
4. Attempt an essay on the relevance of Electronic Literature in enhancing your fluency of the language.
5. Write an introduction to a short story featuring on the theme, attributing meaning and purpose to the life
of fellow human beings with the opening line: "Life is full of sniffles, sobs and smiles. With sniffles
predominating."
6. Read the opening lines of the following poems and formulate a poem on 'the time-tested aspect of
beauty' in about ten lines.
A thing of beauty is a joy for ever:
Its loveliness increases; it will never
Pass into nothingness;

When Beauty and Beauty meet
All naked, fair to fair,
The earth is crying-sweet,
And scattering-bright the air
