QUESTION PAPER SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS
Please read each of the following instructions carefully before attempting questions.
There are EIGHT questions divided into two SECTIONS and printed both in HINDI and in ENGLISH.
Candidate has to attempt FIVE questions in all.
Question No. 1 and 5 are compulsory and out of the remaining, THREE are to be attempted choosing at least ONE from each section.
The number of marks carried by a question/part is indicated against it.
Answers must be written in the medium authorized in the Admission certificate which must be stated clearly on the cover of this Question-cum-Answer· booklet in the space provided. No marks will be given for answers written in medium other than the authorized one.
Wherever any assumptions are made for answering a question, they must be clearly indicated. Charts/Figures, wherever required, shall be drawn in the space provided for answering the question itself.
Attempts of questions shall be counted in chronological order. Unless struck off, attempt of a question shall be counted even if attempted partly. Any page or portion of the page left blank in the answer book must be clearly struck off.

Explain different steps in the preparation of Control Charts. 10
Give any three definitions of Operations Research. What are the advantages and disadvantages of operations research models? 10
What is Linear Programming? Give its advantages and limitations. 10
Explain Double sampling Plan and develop expression required for drawing OC curve in Double sampling Plan. 15
Explain the procedure for drawing the 5-points A S N curve for the sequential sampling plan. 15
In welding of seams, number of defects that were identified in one seam each hour are given below:

Four counters are being opened on the frontier of a country to check the passports and necessary papers of the tourists. The tourists choose the counter at random. If the arrivals at the frontier are Poisson at the rate A and the service time is exponential with parameters what is the steady state average queue at each counter? 10
