6. Calculate the rank correlation co-efficient from the following data

Find the mean values of the variables x and y and correlation co-efficient from
the following regression equations 3y x 50 0 and 3y 2x 0 .
7. A bag contains 7 Red, 12 white and 4 green balls. What is the probability that
3 balls drawn are all white 3 balls are drawn are 1 of each colour?
Or
The customer accounts of a certain departmental stores have an average
balance of Rs. 120 and a standard deviations of Rs. 40. Assuming that the
account balances are normally distributed
What proportion of the accounts is over Rs. 150?
What proportion of the accounts is between Rs. 100 and Rs. 150?
8. A factory is producing 50,000 pairs of shoes daily. From a sample of 500 pairs
are found to be substandard quality. Estimate the number of pairs that
can be reasonably expected to be spoiled in the daily production and assign
limits at 95% level of confidence.

What is interval estimation? Also explain about interval estimation of
population proportion.
9. Explain the procedure of testing of hypothesis.
Or
The means of two large samples of sizes 1000 and 2000 are 67.5 and 68.0
respectively. Test the quality of the means of the two popular each with
standard deviation of 2.5.
10. Explain various types of control charts used in quality control.
Or
A drilling machine bores the holes with a radious of 0.1308 cm with S.D of
0.0008 cm. Compute mean chart limits for 2 sigma and 3 sigma limits,
assuming that size of sample is 4.
