(c)What is resource leveling in project planning.
(d)What are the methods for estimating the duration of an activity.
SECTION III
7.(a)Design a circular column with helical reinforcement subjected to a working load of 1500KN. Diameter of the column is 450mm. The column has unsupported length of 3.5m and is effectively held in position at both ends but not restrained against rotation. Use limit state design method. Use M-25 concrete and HYSD Fe-415 steel.
(b)Derive the expression for three moment theorem.
(c)What are the assumptions made in the analysis of beam.
8.(a)A hollow alloy tube 5 metre long with external and internal diameters equal to 40 mm and 25 mm respectively was found to extend by 6.4 mm under a tensile load of 60 KN. Find the buckling load for the tube, when used as column with both ends pinned. Also find the safe compressive load for the tube, with a factor of safety of 4.
(b)Derive the Euler’s formulae for load on a slender m.s column with both ends hinged.
(c)What is a fillet weld? Explain its advantages
