Question Paper
Is the computer vision different from digital image processing? Describe applications of the computer vision.
How the color and details of the picture are sensed by the eye? How these can be obtained by an artificial eye?
Give an example of wavelet which is symmetric and orthogonal. List out all the classes of wavelets.
What are the operations performed on mother wavelet to derive the daughter wavelet?
3. Derive the equations for transforming from RGB to CIE XYZ, and back. This is a linear transformation. It is sufficient to write out the expressions for the elements of the linear transformation -you don't have to look up the actual numerical values of the colour matching functions.
4. Consider the image segment shown.
Let V and compute the lengths of the shortest and m-path between p and q. If a particular path does not exist between these two points, explain why.
Repeat for V 2}.
3 1 2
2 2 0 2
1 2 1 1
0 1 2
5. Analyse the effect of Laplacian and gradient image enhancement techniques applied on an image. Describe its merits and demerits.
What are the chain codes? Give their advantages and disadvantages.
Why chain code is not considered to be efficient way of describing an object?
Write a program to label all the objects in the image.
7. What is color segmentation in digital image processing? Explain the segmentation in RGB and HSI vector space.
The square pulse having the width of one second, unity height, and symmetric about the dependent axis, can it be considered as wavelet? Justify your answer.
Define Haar wavelet. Give its advantages and disadvantages.
