1. Explain the meaning of any five of the following terms:
Norms of development
Babbling
Autonomy
Self -concept
Stuttering
Animism
Socialization
Write short notes (in 100 -150 words each) on any four of the following:
Influence of family structure and inter relationships on the experiences of the child.
Articulation problems
Relevance of learning experiences
Significance of flexibility and structure in the daily schedule of activities at on ECCE centre
Importance of establishing rapport with other adults at an ECCE centre
Activities to foster sharing and cooperation among preschool children
List two activities each to foster the development of any five of the following
Language development during infancy
Fine motor skills of two-year-old
Gross motor skills of three-year-old
Ability to classify among four-year-old
Concept of shape among five-year-old
Pre-writing skills among preschoolers
Cognitive development during toddlerhood
2. List the main developments during the period of embryo.
Describe the care that should be taken of the mother during pregnancy, giving reasons for the same.
3. Describe cognitive development during the sensori-motor stage. Give examples to support your answer.
4. With the help of examples, discuss the influence of heredity end environment on the development of the child.
5. What do you understand by 'attachment' State the importance of attachment for the young child.
Describe any five behaviours of the caregivers that help in attracting the infants attention and maintaining social interaction.
6. What do you understand by the term 'autonomy'? How can caregivers encourage the development of autonomy during toddlerhood
Describe the social skills and emotions displayed by the toddler (13 -36 months).
7. State any five long term goals that you would keep in mind as a preschool educator.
List two short term goals for each of these five long term goals.
