Introduction
IIIT Bhubaneswar owes its origins to the initiative of the Government Odisha. It is a result of the desire of the Government to establish a world class institute of Information Technology in the state. The Institute has been registered as a society in Nov 2006. In January 2014, the Institute is converted to a University by the Government of Odisha.
The Governance structure of the Institute is modelled after those of the IITs. The Governor of the state is the Chancellor of the Institute. The Board of Governors has members from Odisha Legislative Assembly, Government of Odisha, Leaders from the IT industry and Eminent educationists. Currently, the Chairman of the Institute is the Chief Secretary of the Government of Odisha. The Director is the Executive Head of the Institute. The Director is assisted by the Registrar, the Deans, the Controller of examinations and the Comptroller of finance in day-to-day management of the Institute
The Institute has its focus on quality and rigorous education, quality resource, academic infrastructure, technology and innovation. These initiatives have helped IIIT-Bhubaneswar achieve pre-eminence in India and beyond.
The mission of IIIT is to be a knowledge seeking Institution of higher learning that will educate students in technology and other disciplines of scholarship. The Institute will work closely with the Industry and other users of the technology to develop and deliver technological solutions to enhance their competitive position.
The Institute is committed to the entire value chain of knowledge creation, diffusion and preservation to meet the challenges of the century. The Institute will borrow best practices in education delivery
systems, research and consulting practices. Leveraging technology to bring about next generation of practices will be a key to this strategy.

About ISEA Phase II
Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) Project Keeping in view the pervasive nature and impact of cyber security on all walks of life - economic and social, Government of India has identified Information Security as one of the major thrust area for launching various development programs. One of the key elements essential for information security is availability of right kind of qualified and well trained human resources, who could take up Research & Development (R&D), develop indigenous solutions / software, secure and maintain various systems including critical infrastructure. Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has approved a project in 2005 entitled Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) which was completed in 2014 and Phase II of the said Project was approved in April 2014 with an outlay of Rs. 96.08 crore for a period of 5 years.
Objectives
Capacity building in the area of Information Security to address the human resource requirement of the country, by
Generation of core research manpower to undertake basic/fundamental research, applied research, research in the area of product/solution
design and development and in selected thematic areas of national strategic importance to build indigenous capability
Introduction of Information Security curriculum in formal courses like M.Tech./M.E./M.S., B.Tech/B.E., Post Graduate Diploma courses, faculty training, modular/short term knowledge oriented courses etc. through academic institutions
Launching non-formal modular/short-term knowledge-cum-skill oriented courses etc. for working professionals at all levels including the flexible certificate programs, certification scheme through NIELIT, CDAC etc.
Launching formal courses on virtual mode using the NKN Network to expand the training capacities
Training of Government Personnel
Creation of mass information security awareness targeted towards
Academic Users: School level Children, Parents & Teachers, College level Students & Faculties
General Users: Small enterprise/Business users, SME Sector/Non IT industry, NGOs, CSCs, Cyber cafes and general public at large
Government Users: Central/State Government employees (non IT professionals), Legal / Police personnels etc.

Minimum Qualification:
- MCA passout from a reputed college.
- Knowledge in Information security is desirable but not mandatory
Method of Evaluation:
- Depending on the number of applications received, the Institute may short list based on suitable merit criteria.
