In continuation of Institute recruitment advertisement no. AB/Estt/2O171431dated l6'h June 2017 inviting applications for the Post of Assistant Professor and advertisement no. ABTEstt/20171437 dated 19th June 2017 inviting applications for the post of Associate Professor and Professor, attention of all concerned is invited to following modifications in ori ginal advertisements:

- The Eligibility Criteria and Credit Point system under both the above advertisements shall be as per Statute 23(5Xa) of First Statutes of National lnstitute of Technology as modified by First Statutes of NIT (Amendment) Statutes, 2017 and notified vide Gazette notification no. S.O. 947(E) dated 21" .luly 2017. Applicants who have already applied in response to the above advertisements and meet the conditions specified in the Gazette notification no. S.O.947(F.) dated 21" July 2017 need not apply again (relevant extracts of Gazette notification are attached herewith).
- (2)
- Mere fulfilling the minimum eligible criteria shall not entitle an applicant to be called for Interview. Institute reserves the right to restrict number of candidates to be called for a particular post based on qualification and experience.
- (3)
- ln view of above, the last date for application under both the above advertisements is hereby extended upto 2l't August 2017 .
All other conditions of orisinal advertisements except the above shall remain unchansed.

- For existing faculty members who completed their Ph.D. along-with their normal teaching load of Institute or quality improvement programme, the enrolment period of Ph.D. will be counted as teaching experience.

- Contribution to Instifute Administration shall be recommended by concemed Head or Chairman and approved by the
- Director. Conkibution to departmental Adminishation shall be recommended by concerned Head and approved by the Director.
- (5)
- For the departments which are not having any vacancy, movement in higher Academic Grade Pay or cadre shall be
- carried out as per specified selection process but it will be restricted to only for serving faculty members of the respective departrnents.
- (6)
- The permanent faculty members who have put in more than ten years experience, but have not acquired ph.D.
qualification as on the date of these notification shall be mapped into four-tier flexible system as one time measgre as per following nonns:
(a) Permanent faculty with age fifty or above:
(i) The Assistant Professors with Academic Grade Pay of Rs.7000 shall be mapped at the level of Assistant
Professor with Academic Grade Pay of Rs.8000, provided they have at least 10 credit points in their lifetime.
(iD The Assistant Professors with Academic Grade Pay of Rs.8000 shall be mapped at the level of Associate Professor with Academic Grade Pay of Rs.9500, provided they have at least 25 credit points in their lifetime.
(iii) The Associate Professors with Academic Grade Pay of Rs.9000 shall be mapped at the level of Associate
Professor with Academic Grade Pay of Rs.9500, provided they have at least 25 credit points in their lifetime:
Provided, they have been found suitable through a Selection Committee duly constituted under the Statutes.
(b) Permanent faculty members less than fifty years of age shall be sponsored for ph.D. in any of the Indian Institutes ofTechnology or National Institutes ofTechnology duly provided a facility to take study leave ofthree
years from their respective National Institute of Technology and on completion of the Ph.D., ttrey stratt compete to get into the four tier system as per the new recruitment rules.
(7) For faculty in the Department of Architecture, following shall be essential qualification without insisting on credit point requirements at Assistant Professor level:
(0 M.Arch. or M.Plan. with one year professional experience: Assistant Professor at Academic Grade pav of Rs.6000;
(iD M.Arch. or M.Plan. with two years ofprofessional experience: Assistant Professor at Academic Grade pav of Fs.7000;
(iii) For higher cadres the educational qualifications and credit point requirement shall remain same as given in the table for Engineering and Sciences.
