Intervention Team Member (Field Investigators) (2posts) Position Starting: February 2015

Description: We are hiring three intervention team members of for an international research project conducted by AIIMS, Delhi in collaboration with St. John's Research Institute (SJRI) and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). The 5-year DriSti intervention was designed to reduce AIDS stigma among health professionals in North and South India.

Responsibilities

Intervention staff will deliver a 3-session partly computer tablet-administered and partly groupbased intervention to our target populations. The intervention team will be trained on research ethics and methodology, including data collection procedures, confidentiality, informed consent, and administration of the intervention components in mock sessions. All intervention staff will be supervised by the site coordinator and the India study manager (based in Bangalore).

Required skills

• Previous research experience
  
  
• Ability to communicate fluently in English and Hindi (reading, writing, and speaking)
  
  
• Outstanding interpersonal communication skills
  
  
• Experience with counseling, public health or other behavior change interventions
  
  
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
  
  
• Familiarity with Android-based Apps (mobile phone or tablet)
  
  
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  
  
• Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, and willingness to travel to project sites
  
  
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  
  
• Ability to establish rapport and work effectively with individuals of different ethnicities, socio-economic status, caste, gender, and sexual orientation
  
  

Preferred skills

• Having conducted a group-based program, such as support groups, focus groups, behavioral or a therapeutic group intervention
  
  
• Having worked with people living with HIV
  
  

Language skills

Fluency in English & Hindi ( Reading, writing & speaking)

Educational requirements:

Master's degree in an appropriate social science discipline (e.g. Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, etc.) or equivalent
