The Institute has been established as an Autonomous Institution and Institute of National Importance through the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (Amendment) Act, 2012. By virtue of this Act, the Institute grants its own medical degrees and other academic distinctions. The degrees granted by the Institute under All India Institute of Medical Sciences (Amendment) Act, 2012 are recognized medical qualifications for the purpose of the Indian Medical Council Act and notwithstanding anything contained therein, are deemed to be included in the first schedule of that Act, entitling the holders the same privileges as those attached to the equivalent awards from recognized Universities of India.

Applications with complete biodata in the prescribed format, as available on the website https://www.aiimsbhubaneswar.edu.in are invited from Indian Citizens for the admission for 01(one) Post of Fellowship (PDF) in Thoracic Anaesthesia with the Department of Anaesthesia & Critical Care for a maximum tenure period of one year at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar which may be sent through speed post only within 30 days from the date of publication of the Advertisement in the Employment News :

Candidates who are fulfilling all eligibility criteria as mentioned below may apply as per the prescribed format. Candidates who are working in government sector may intimate to their employer about their submission of application. However, they will submit NOC at the time of written examination and/or Personal Interview.

Eligibility Criteria:

Required Qualification	MD/ DNB from recognised institute or any other qualification approved by the Institute for this purpose from time to time in any of the following specialities Anaesthesiology. Post MD/DNB candidates with PDCC in Cardio-Thoracic Anaesthesia from recognised Institutes can also apply.
Age Limit	45 years as on the last date of the receipt of the application i.e 30 days from the date of publication of the Advertisement in the Employment News.
Leave	24 days for one year
Internal Assessment	6 monthly internal Assessment or as decided by the AIIMS, Bhubaneswar
Exit Examination	To be decided by AIIMS, Bhubaneswar

Selection procedure:

1. A written Examination based on MCQs in Anaesthesia & Critical care (total marks 80) will be conducted if there are 5 (five) or more candidates. The exact date, time and place will be intimated in due course of time through admit card.

2. Candidates who get 50% marks or more in the written examination will be eligible for consideration for the interview. The total number of candidates called for the interview will be maximum of three times the number of seat(s) available.

3. The result of the written examination will be displayed on the notice board of the Examination Section at AIIMS, Bhubaneswar and the Interview will be held on the same date as that of the written exam. Candidates will be sent intimation about the written examination and/or personal interview through email/post and the same is required to be produce at the time of examination.

4. The Interview will carry 20 marks to be based on Clinical evaluation/Laboratory testing. There is no cut off mark for the interview.

5. The merit list shall be prepared on the basis of combined marks of written test and interview.

6. After filling of available post(s), all remaining candidates shall be kept in the waiting list that is valid till 28th February 2018. They must leave two phone numbers and email / fax no. with Academic Section for faster communication.

7. If insufficient number of candidates are eligible, then the written examination may not be held as per institute guidelines selection will be based on interview.

8. Prior experience (research or clinical) in thoracic or cardio-thoracic anaesthesia will be given preference in selection process of upto 5 marks as decided by the committee.

9. Selected Candidate will be expected to stay in Institute Campus if offered residential accommodation.

10. In case of exceptional candidates the discretion of authorities to relax requisite eligibility criteria like age, experience etc. shall be final.

11. Candidates working in Govt. / Semi-Govt., PSU should apply through proper channel only. The in-services candidates will not be permitted for examination / interview, without No Objection Certificate from the employer. In this connection, it is mentioned that as per the terms and conditions of Senior Residency Scheme that their engagement is to be regulated as per the CCS (Temporary Service Rules). As per rule 1(3) of the CCS (TSR) that these rules shall apply to all persons who hold a Civil Post including all civilians paid from defence service estimate under the Govt. of India, and who are under the rule making control of President, but who dont hold a lien or suspended lien on any post under the Govt. of India or State Govt.

Pay Scale:

1. I. For Senior Residents: Rs. 15,600-39,100+ Rs. 6,600 (Grade Pay) + NPA and other allowance as admissible under Central Residency Scheme will be provided.
