Advertisement for JRF position in DST-DFG project
Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the DST-DFG International Cooperation project titled Rational development of regioselective difunctionalizations of arenes using carboxylates as deciduous groups at the Computational Chemistry and Molecular Modeling (CCMM) Group (http://www.iiserkol.ac.in/~koley/index.html), Department of Chemical Sciences, IISER Kolkata.
Position: JRF (Junior Research Fellow)
Fellowship: Rs. 25,000/- + HRA. HRA will be provided in the case of non-availability of hostel facility on campus.
Duration: 1 year, to be renewed strictly based on performance and availability of fund.
Eligibility: (i) First class (or CGPA OF 7.0 and above at a scale of 10) in MSc in Chemistry with CSIR-UGC NET (LS) or equivalent qualification and/or a valid GATE score.
(ii) Have interest in doing computational chemistry research with strong understanding of physical and inorganic chemistry.
(iii) Candidates should be below 28 years of age at the time of application.

Applications should include an updated CV and a statement of purpose of not more than 1000 words explaining the candidates interest in contributing to the project and joining the CCMM group at IISER Kolkata.
The shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview at IISER Kolkata, and will need to bring the following documents.
- Two sealed recommendation letters from a teacher and/or academic mentor
- Self-attested copies of degree certificates with originals.
- Any other relevant documents.
Last date of receiving applications: 12 February 2018
Conditions: No TA/DA will be provided to the candidate for the interview. The decision of the selection committee will be final. The selected candidate may be terminated with a 30-day notice before completion of tenure, if performance till date is not deemed satisfactory.
