National Law University, Delhi invites applications from Indian citizens for the following academic and administrative staff positions on a contract basis in a UGC funded project.
ABOUT THE RESEARCH PROJECT:

Language is an integral part of the social identity and ethnicity of a group. To preserve a social groups or tribes cultural identity it is essential to help them preserve their language. UGCs present initiative to offer support grant for study and research in Indigenous and Endangered Languages to enable State Universities to pay a greater attention to the marginal languages, non-scheduled languages, languages of tribal and nomadic communities and the languages that deserve a measure of social sympathy and academic attention. is expected not only to be academically significant but also important in promoting social justice.

Rs. 25000 Per Month +HRA for non-PhDs and Rs. 28000 Per Month +HRA for PhDs holders. All salaries pre-revised subject to revision, or as per NLUD rules. |

M.A. / M.Sc. in Geography with knowledge of Computers and preferably Linguistics. Prior experience in cultural linguistic profiling, and exposure to Arcinfo/GIS would be an added advantage. |

Language Archivist or Documentation Officer (on contract) |
MCA/MTech/PHD in Computer Science, or any other degree in a relevant subject with knowledge of language archiving and documentation. Preferably with knowledge of Linguistics, or PHD in Linguistics with knowledge of computers. Desirable: knowledge of library management and an additional degree in Library Science. |

PHD (with NET if applicable). Preferably a Senior academic of Linguistics/ Literature/ Social Anthropology /Anthropological Linguistics / Law/ Culture, or any other relevant field. |

Steno/ PA to the Head: One (on contract) |
Graduate, preferably with knowledge of office management, accounting, computers, stenography, typing. Good Communication Skills are essential. Work experience of five years or more is desirable. |

12th or higher. Preferably with Knowledge of computers, driving and good Communication Skills. Prior experience of working in an office is desirable. |

Native speakers of endangered languages of NCR and surrounding states. Literacy, some schooling or a college degree are desirable but not essential. |

- 3. People with a burning passion for the cause of the endangered languages, a sense of humour, dedication, capacity to focus on goals, and positive outlook would form ideal members of the team.
- 4. They should be ready to present the work of the research team in the media and conferences, seminars, and to the relevant officials and organizations. We appreciate academic honesty, quality of research, and responsibility towards the institution, work, and team.
- 5. Openness to new ideas, learning capability, non-discriminatory, non-hierarchical behaviour, respect for each others dignity, and a willingness to shoulder the teams academic and administrative work is essential.
