Applications are invited from eligible candidates for appointment on deputation (including short-term contract) basis to the posts of (i) Biomedical Engineer, Group A, PB-3-Rs. 15600-39100 + GP 6600 (pre-revised), Level 11 (Rs.67700-208700) (revised) and (ii) Senior Biomedical Engineer, Group A, PB-3-Rs. 15600-39100 + GP Rs. 7600 (pre-revised), Level 12 (Rs. 78800-209200) (revised) in Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation, Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, New Delhi. The details of the posts, eligibility criteria, job requirement, age limit etc. required for the posts are indicated in Annexures I and II respectively. The pay and other terms and conditions of deputation (including short-term-contract) will be regulated in accordance with DOPTs O.M. No. 6/8/2009-Estt.(Pay-II) dated 17.06.2010 as amended from time to time. Cadre authorities/Heads of Department are requested to forward applications of eligible and willing candidates whose services can be spared on deputation (including short-term contract) basis so as to reach Shri D N Sahoo, Deputy Secretary (Drugs), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare within 60 days from the date of publication of this advertisement in the Employment News. The Application Form/Curriculum Vitae proforma is at Annexure-III.

LIST OF DOCUMENTS TO BE SENT ALONG WITH THE APPLICATION

1. Application in prescribed format Annexure II duly filled in and signed by the candidate and countersigned with seal by the Cadre/Appointing authority.
2. Attested copies of APAR/ACRs for the last 5 (five) years duly attested on each page by an officer not below the rank of Under Secretary to the Government of India.

ANNEXURE-I

One post of Biomedical Engineer, Group A, Pay Band 3-Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay Rs. 6600 (pre-revised) Level 11 (Rs.67700-208700) in the pay matrix (revised).

Method of recruitment

Deputation (including short-term contract)

Eligibility Criteria

Officers of the Central Government or the State Governments or Union territories or Universities or recognized Research Institutions or Public Sector Undertakings or semi-Government or Statutory or Autonomous Organisations:-

(a)(i) holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; or

(ii) with five years service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on regular basis in the pay band-3, Rs. 15600-39100 with grade pay of Rs. 5400 (pre-revised) or equivalent, Level 10-Rs. 56100-177500 (revised) in the pay matrix (revised)

(iii) With six years service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in the Pay Band 2, Rs. 9300-34800 with Grade Pay of Rs. 4800 or equivalent (pre-revised), Level 8 (Rs. 47600-151100) (revised) in the pay matrix in the parent cadre or department; and

(b) Possessing the following educational qualifications and experience.

Essential

(i) Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology degree in Biomedical Engineering or Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering or Biomechanical Engineering or Polymer Engineering from a recognized University or Institute;

(ii) Five years experience in research or designing or manufacturing or testing of medical devices in the manufacturing organisation or research organsation or Institute or in an academic college

Desirable

(i) Post-graduate degree or Diploma in the disciplines specified under essential qualification from a recognized University or Institute.

(iii) Two years experience with regulatory aspects of safety and efficacy of medical devices.

Note 1: Period of deputation (Including Short Term Contract) including the period of deputation (Including Short Term Contract) in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organisation or department of the Central Government shall not exceed four years.

Note 2: The maximum age- limit for appointment by deputation shall not be exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.

ANNEXURE-II

One post of Senior Biomedical Engineer, Group A, Pay Band 3-Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay Rs. 7600 (pre-revised) Level 12 (Rs.78800-209200) in the pay matrix (revised).
