The ESSO-National Centre for Antarctic & Ocean Research (NCAOR), an Autonomous Society under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Govt. of India, New Delhi, is looking for prospective candidates for filling up of six (06) posts of Junior Research Fellows under various projects. The positions are purely temporary on project mode initially for a period of one year. Candidates fulfilling the prescribed eligibility criteria are invited to attend a walk-in-interview at NCAOR on 21^st November 2016 (Monday).

Project	:	Oceansea-iceatmosphere teleconnections between the Southern Ocean and North Atlantic during the Holocene (OCTEL)

Project	:	Integrated study of benchmark glaciers in Chandra Basin, Lahaul-Spiti, Western Himalayas (under Cryosphere and Climate)

Masters degree in Physical Sciences / Earth Sciences with 60% marks from a recognized University and NET/GATE/INSPIRE or equivalent qualification OR M.Tech in Physical Sciences / Earth Sciences with 60% marks from a recognized University. (ii). Physical fitness for field work on high altitude Himalayan glaciers.
		Desirable: (i)Experience in scientific data processing and analysis.
Job Requirement	:	(i) To participate in the glaciological studies in Himalayas and undertake research work related to the climate-glacier interrelationships.
Project	:	Extant coccolithophores from the Southern Ocean: Species specific ecology and paleoceanographic implications.

Eligibility Criteria		Essential: Masters Degree in Earth Science/Geology/Marine Biology/Marine Sciences or equivalent with 60% marks from a recognized University.
		Desirable: (i) Knowledge of Paleoclimatology/Micropaleontology/Marine Biology/ Marine Chemistry. (iii) Basic knowledge on microfossils preferably, siliceous and calcareous organisms. (iii) Knowledge of computer.
Job Requirement	:	(i) To participate in Southern Ocean/ Antarctic expeditions for the collection of samples for coccolithophore analysis (ii) Laboratory analysis of microfossils.

(Registration will start from 09:00 a.m to 11:00 a.m. Interview will start from 10:00 a.m onwards)

Age Limit: Not exceeding 28 years, age relaxation will be as per the GOI norms.

Reservation: As per GOI norms.

Tenure: The post is purely temporary under the Project mode on contract basis. The assignment is initially for a period one year or till the completion of the Project, whichever is earlier.

N.B:

1. 21^st November 2016 (Monday) is the cut-off date for all the purposes.
   
   
2. The person engaged will not be treated on par with regular employees of NCAOR and shall have no right to claim implicit or explicit for their absorption or regularization in NCAOR.
   
   
3. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
