Advertisement for Project Assistant.

NABI Computational Biology/Bioinformatics Laboratory has the high performance computing infrastructure which is a gateway for NABI scientists to use computational methods and databases to deepen and integrate their research.

Requirement: One Project Assistant for the following project:" Connections: A comprehensive biological relationships resource and tools for automated literature mining".

Sponsoring agency: Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology Government of India.

Age Limit :- The age limit for the candidates will be 28 years (relaxation is admissible in case of SC/ST/OBC as per government of India instructions).

Essential qualification:

Post Graduate degree (M.Tech/MCA) in Computer Science/Information Technology OR Graduate degree(B.Tech/B.E) in Computer Science/Information Technology.

Desirable qualification/skills:

1) Should be proficient in programming in Perl/Python/Java/C++ language etc.

2) Should have knowledge and skills for development of relational database/NoSQL database.

3) Knowledge of working on any MVC based web frameworks.

4) Good understanding of Algorithms and Data Structures.

5) Knowledge of NLP and machine learning

6) Knowledge of parallel programming.

Duration:- The appointment will be till 20th June, 2020 or till the termination of the project whichever is earlier.

Job description:

1) To develop and maintain database and web GUI in this project.

2) To assist in day-to-day implementation of the project.

Emoluments: Consolidated Rs.12000/- per month

Application and Selection Process: All interested candidates may appear for Walk In-Interview at National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute located at Knowledge city, Sector-81, Mohali- 140306, Punjab on 29 August, 2017 at 09:00 AM along-with the duly filled application form available on the website www.nabi.res.in. The duly filled application form must be submitted at the time of registration at NABI from 09:00 AM to 10:00 AM on 29 August, 2017. The candidates must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. All the candidates are requested to appear for the interview with full CV, project report, experience certificates, publications and original degree certificates and transcripts. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview. Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to disqualification of the candidate(s).
