ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE POST OF TECHNICAL MEMBER, PLANT VARIETIES PROTECTION APPELLATE TRIBUNAL (PVPAT)

Government of India invites applications for the post of Technical Member, Plant Varieties Protection Appellate Tribunal (PVPAT) in HAG Scale of Rs. 67000-79000/-. The Central Government under Section 59 of PPV&FR Act, 2001 has invoked the transitional provision and, accordingly, the Intellectual Property Appellate Board shall function as Plant Varieties Protection Appellate Tribunal subject to the appointment of Technical Member under PPV&FR Act, 2001.

Method and Duration of appointment:- The appointment shall be made on deputation basis for a period of five years or up to the age of sixty-two years, whichever is earlier.

Eligibility:- Officers under Central Government/State Government/UT/Autonomous Bodies/Statutory Organisation/PSUs/Universities or Recognised Research Institute/World Intellectual Property Organisation /International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD)/ Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)/Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), holding analogous post for 3 years service in the Pay Scale of 37400-67000 with G.P. Rs. 10000/- .

AND

A person who is an eminent agricultural scientist in the field of plant breeding and genetics and possesses an experience of at least 20 years to deal with plant variety or seed development activity, or who has held the post in the Central Government or a State Government dealing with plant variety or seed development equivalent to the Joint Secretary to the Government of India for at least three years and possesses special knowledge in the field of plant breeding and genetics.

Duties attached to the post:-

Duties attached to the post etc. will be as per the provisions contained in the Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers Rights Authority Act, 2001 and Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers Rights Authority Rules, 2003.
