3. Reservations :

a) Vertical Reservation : 69% Communal reservation will be followedvertically as per existing Government rules / Orders i.e., 18% shall be reserved for Scheduled Castes including 3% offered to Arunthathiars on preferential basis amongst the Scheduled Castes, 1% for Scheduled Tribes, 26.5% for Backward Classes (other than Backward Class Muslims), 3.5% for the Backward Class Muslims,20% for Most Backward Classes and Denotified Communities and 31% shall be filled on the basis of merit.

Provided that, if even after filling up of the required appointments or posts reserved for Arunthathiars amongst the Scheduled Castes, if more number of qualified Arunthathiars are available, such excess number of candidates of Arunthathiars shall be entitled to compete with the other Scheduled Castes in the inter-se-merit among them and if any appointment or post reserved for Arunthathiars remains unfilledfor want of adequate number of qualified candidates, it shall be filled up by ScheduledCastes other than Arunthathiars.

b) Horizontal Reservations :

i) Women Reservation: 30% Women reservation will be provided horizontallyas per existing Government Rules / Orders. If qualified and suitable women candidates are not available for selection against the vacancies reserved for them, those vacancies will be filled by male candidates belonging to those respective communal categories.

ii) Destitute Widows : 10% of Vacancies out of 30% vacancies set apart for women shall be reserved for destitute widows.

iii) Reservation for Ex-service men: 5% reservation will be provided for theEx-Servicemen subject to availability of such suitable candidates as per G.O.MS.No.762Public (Ex-service men) Department dated.29.08.2002.

iv) Reservation for Persons Studied in Tamil Medium (PSTM): For the direct recruitment of Special Teachers 20% horizontal reservation on preferential basis for persons who studied their prescribed qualifications in Tamil Medium will befollowed as per existing Government Orders. This reservation is subject to the availability of suitable eligible candidates. In the event of non-availability of such candidates the posts reserved for PSTM candidates will be filled by General candidates.

v) Reservation for Persons with Disability: G.O.Ms.No.68 School education(SE3(1)), Department, dated 17.04.2017 and G.O.Ms.No. 21 Welfare ofDifferently Abled Persons (DAP.3.2) Department, dated 30.05.2017 will be followed for reservation of persons with disability.

4. Qualifications: a) Age Limit : Candidates should not be over 57 years of age as on 1-7-2017 as the age of superannuation is 58 years.

b) EducationalQualifications:

The Candidates with UG/PG Degree should have been studied in the pattern 10+2+3+2/10+3+3+2/11+2+3+2 as per the G.O.242 Higher Education (P1) DepartmentDt.18.12.2012.

A Diploma in Costume designing and Dress makings issued by theBoard of Technical Education and Training, Madras.or b. Industrial School CertificatanedTechnical Teachers certificate.

Note : In case of any doubt regarding qualifications, the English version is final.

The candidates should apply only for the vacancies notified and subject specified. The candidates applying for the posts mentioned in Annexure-I should have passed Tamil Language as Part I or Part II up to SSLC o r PUC/Higher Secondary Course levels. If not, he/she should pass Tamil Language Test conducted by the Tamil nadu Public Service Commission within two years from the date of his/her appointment.

The candidates not having prescribed qualifications, as on the last date of submission of filled-in online application, shall not be eligible to apply for the examination. The candidates should satisfy themselves about their eligibilitybefore applying. It is to be noted that if a candidate is allowed to appear for the examination it does not imply that the eligibility of the candidate is verified. Theeligibility shall be verified by the Board only at the time of Certificate Verification.

Note: All qualifying certificates should have been obtained prior to the last date

(18.08.2017) for submission of filled-in online applications, announced in the

recruitment notification.

c) Equivalent Qualification: If a candidate claims that the educational qualification inthe subject possessed by him/her is equivalent to, though not the same, as those prescribed for the appointment, he/she has to produce the subject equivalence G.O issuedby the Government of Tamil Nadu at the time of Certificate Verification.

5. Examination fee:

a) The candidates have to pay a fee of Rs.500/-(Rs.250/-for SC/SCA/ ST andP W D c a n d i d a t e s ) towards examination fee payable only through online netbanking/ credit card / debit card.

b) The candidates have also to pay the service charges as applicable for online payment.

c) Off line mode of payment in the form of Demand Draft / Postal Order etc. will not be accepted and the applications forwarded with such modes of payments willbe summarily rejected.

d) The application process is entirely online. No application in paper will be accepted by TRB.

6. Procedure to apply:

a) Candidates should apply only through online mode in the TRB website

www.trb.tn.nic.in using the link trbonlineexams.in/spl/b) Evidence for claims made by the candidates while applying in online

should be submitted by the candidates at the time of Certificate Verification, if called

for.

7. Scheme of Examination: a) The written examination will consist of a single paper of 2 hours and30 minutes duration with 95 Multiple Choice Questions ( MCQs)

Note: i. Questions in the main subject will be on the subject for which thecandidate has applied for.

ii. The question paper for all subjects will be of objective type withmultiple choice questions in English and Tamil only.

iii. If candidates are working elsewhere at the time of their applyingfor this recruitment should obtain the necessary No-objection Certificate and should submit at the time of Certificateverification.

b) The syllabus for the subject published in Gazette no.2 Dated.05.01.2015 will be covered in the examination and it can be downloaded from the Teachers RecruitmentBoard official website www.trb.tn.nic.in

c) Minimum Qualifying mark : As per G.O.(MS) No.172 School Education (TRB)Department Dated.18.07.2017, minimum qualifyin marks -40% in written examination (for SC/SCA category -35%, for ST cateory -30% marks)

8. Selection Procedure:

The Selection will be made in two successive stages viz., a Written examination bAwarding weightage marks during Certificate Verification.

a) Written Examination:

The Written Examination will be held on 23.09.2017 from 10.00 A.M to 12.30

P.M. The venue for the Examination will be intimated in the Hall Ticket. The HallTickets for the eligible candidates will be uploaded by the TRB in its official website. The candidates are advised to refer the TRB website for details www.trb.tn.nic.in. No written communication will be sent to the candidates.

The decision of the Teachers Recruitment Board on the eligibility of the candidate to appear for the examination will be final. Scribes:

On request, eligible candidates for the eligible subject vide G.O.Ms.No.68 School education(SE3(1)), Department, dated 17.04.2017 with disability will be allowed assistance of scribes based on the Medical Certificate produced by the candidates. Key Answers:

Tentative key will be published on completion of the exam. The candidates whointend to have objections on tentative key answers shall raise them along with supporting materials, within 5 days from date of release of tentative key. Any objections and materials produced beyond the stipulated time will not be entertained and candidates are estopped from questioning them at a later point of time.

On consideration of such objections, final key answers will be published and the same will be final. No independent orders either accepting or rejecting the objections ofthe candidates will be passed.

Constitution of experts to scrutinize the objections cannot be questioned by the candidates. Written Examination Results:

Marks scored by candidates will be published in the official website of TRB www.trb.tn.nic.in. The publication of results will be announced through Press /Media.

b) CertificateVerification:

The Board will prepare the list of Candidates for Certificate Verification in the ratio of 1:2 based on the Written Examination Marks duly following the communal rotation, vacancy position and other relevant rules in vogue.

Note:

If more than one candidate secures the lowest or same cut-off mark for a particular communal turn, all such candidates will be called for CV. Certificate Verification List and C.V Call letter will be published in the Official Website of TRB www. trb.tn.nic.in only.

9. The following certificates obtained prior to the cut off date (18.08.2017-last datefor the submission of filled-in online application) have to be produced at the time ofCertificate Verification, if called for:

a). Original Certificates and Mark statements pertaining to the following Educationalqualifications.

i. 10^th / SSLC

ii. H.S.C. or its equivalent

iii. Technical qualification Certificates ( as mentioned in the paragraph

No.4 Qualification)

iv. Employment Registration Card (Registered full qualification andrenewed till date)

b) Community Certificate: Community Certificate should be obtained from the b e l o w mentioned authorities of Government of Tamilnadu for candidates claiming Communal reservation.

i) ST -Revenue Divisional Officer (if the certificate is issued after 11.11.1989) ii) SC/SCA -Tahsildar of native taluk of the candidate.

iii) BC / MBC / DNC -Headquarters Deputy Tahsildar or Special Deputy Tahsildar.

Note:

i. Community Certificate of married women issued in fathers name (Notin Husbands Name) alone shall be accepted.

ii. Community certificates issued by other State and Union Territory will notbe considered against vacancies reserved for 69% communal reservation.They will be considered only for Open Category.

c) Tamil Medium Study Certificate: Candidate who claims reservation under PSTM category has to produce Tamil Medium Study Certificate in the prescribedformat (Annexure II)

d) Disability Certificate (If applicable): A candidate who wants to avail thebenefit of reservation for PWD, as per G.O.Ms.No.68 School education SE3(1),Department, dated 17.04.2017 would have to submit an Identity Card and Passbook with Disability Certificate issued by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Candidates who are not personally present for the Certificate Verification on the prescribed date shall not be considered for further selection process even if theyhave secured the qualifying marks for selection.

10. Final Selection:

After certificate verification, the total marks secured by each candidate will bearrived at by adding weightage marks to the written examination marks. A merit list will then be prepared on this basis. Final Selection will be made from the merit list dulyfollowing merit-cum-communal rotation.

The Final selection result will be published on the website viz. www.trb.tn.nic.in. The final eligibility of the candidates will be subject to the decision of Teachers Recruitment Board and the appointing authority. The appointment orders will be issuedby the Department concerned to which the candidates are provisionally selected, after verifying their eligibility for the post they are selected.

11. General Information:

a) The number of vacancies notified is only approximate and is liable for modification with reference to vacancy position of User Departments at thetime before finalization of selection.

b) Evidence of claims made in the online application should be submitted intime at the time of Certificate Verification, if called for. Any subsequent claim made thereafter on submission of online application will not be entertained at any cost.

c) Incomplete applications and applications containing false claims orincorrect particulars relating to category of reservation, basic qualifications,communal category and other eligibility criteria will be liable for rejection.

d) Candidates are not allowed to bring Mobile Phones, Watches, bands orrings with in-built memory notes etc. or any other Electronic gadgets,Clarks Table and Calculators inside the Examination Hall.

e) Applicants are advised, in their own interest, not to bring any of the banneditems including mobile phones to the Examination Venue, as arrangements for safe keeping cannot be assured.

f) No candidate should misbehave in any manner or create a disorderlyscene in the examination centre or harass the staff employed by theBoard for the conduct of examination. Any such misconduct will be viewed seriously and penalized.

g) No T.A./D.A. will be paid. Candidates will have to bear their own expenses to attend the written Examination and the Certificate Verification,if called for.

h) In the matter of recruitment, the decision of the Teachers RecruitmentBoard is final. Any representation for non-selection will not be entertained at any cost.
