Appointment under Technical Research Centre (TRC) Project

The S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, an autonomous organization under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, invites application from Indian nationals for the position of Project Assistant (6 positions) in the TRC Project on contract basis:

Essential

Qualification: B.E or B. Tech (Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / Applied Optics) or M.Sc. in Physics / Applied Physics / Instrumentation from recognized College/ Institution/ University. Knowledge of computer use is essential.

Experience: Minimum 3 (three) years in operating and maintenance of sophisticated instruments.

Desirable: 1) First Class in qualifying degree.

2) Experience in operating and maintenance of sophisticated instruments viz. X-ray diffractometer (XRD), Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM) / Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) / Electron Energy Loss Spectrometry (EELS), Sputtering Unit, Optical Design and building of Optical /NIR Instrument, Mass Spectrometry, Electronics Design, interfacing and hardware maintenance, Clean room (10,000 class) etc.

Nature of job: Responsible for maintaining and operating sophisticated equipments as stated above and providing necessary services to the users.

Age Limit: Not more that 35 years on the date of advertisement.

Consolidated Salary: Rs.35,400/-(approximately) per month.

Relaxation of Age and Qualifications: For candidates with exceptional academic record and/or experience relevant to the advertisement, relaxation may be given by the Selection Committee with the permission of the Competent Authority.

For SC, ST and OBC candidates, relaxations as per GOI rules will apply.

Period of contract will be initially for 1 (one) year. The appointment can be renewed yearly on the basis of performance.
