Subject: Filling up of vacant posts of Scientists in C, D, F and G levels in Ministry of Earth Sciences on regular (direct recruitment) basis.

Applications are invited from Indian citizens for filling up of 10(Ten) posts of Scientists in C, D, F and G levels in Ministry of Earth Sciences (Proper) on direct recruitment basis as per following details:-

Essential Qualification (Atmospheric Sciences)

Masters degree from a recognized university in Physics or Chemistry or Meteorology or Agricultural Meteorology or Atmospheric Sciences or Geophysics or equivalent with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level or Bachelors degree in Engineering or

Technology from a recognized university with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level.

Experience

Three (03) years experience in teaching (at graduate or post graduate level), research and development, survey, administration, planning, supervision or training, etc., in the relevant field.

Note: Doctorate degree in the relevant field will count as three years experience.

Desirable

i) Masters degree from a recognized university in Engineering or Technology or Doctorate in the relevant subject or area of specialization.

ii) Experience in policy making, planning or management in the relevant field.

Job Requirement:

To plan and execute R&D in the domain of Scientific/Research programmes of the Ministry; development of R&D projects including in public-private-partnership mode; project review & monitoring; preparation of reports; and coordination of scientific activities in the field.

Essential Qualification (Ocean Sciences)

Masters degree from a recognized university in Physics or Chemistry or Oceanography or Marine Sciences or Ocean Sciences or Geophysics or equivalent with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level or Bachelors degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university with at least 60% marks in the qualifying degree level.

Experience

Three (03) years experience in teaching (at graduate or post graduate level), research and development, survey, administration, planning, supervision or training, etc., in the relevant field.

Experience

Seven (07) years experience in Science/Mass Communication/Journalism and out-reach programmes and in writing science based reports.

Note: Doctorate degree in the relevant field will count as three years experience.

Desirable

1st Class post-graduate degree in Public Relations/Mass communications with aptitude for original Science writing for mass media Experience in policy making, planning or management in the relevant field.

Job Requirement

Preparation of original write-up/scripts on MoES activities and achievements for coverage in Print (newspapers and magazines), Electronic, Digital and interactive media, media coverage of special announcements/ events generally by way of organizing press conferences, coordinating out-reach programs of the Ministry, preparation of Scientific reports/Annual reports/Managing social media, Organizing exhibitions etc.

Experience

Twenty one (21) years experience in teaching (graduate or post graduate level), research and development, survey, administration, planning, supervision or training, etc., in the relevant field.

II. The prescribed essential qualifications are minimum and the mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview.
