Recruitment of Project Scientist C(1-Atmospheric Science & 1-Geoscience)

Ministry of Earth Sciences is looking for suitable candidates for filling up the posts of Project Scientist-C (2 posts) in the field of Atmospheric Science and Geoscience to work in its programme entitled, Research and Development in Earth System Sciences. The engagement is purely on contractual basis. Selected candidates would be engaged for a period of 01(one) year initially, extendable for further years, maximum up to March, 2020, subject to satisfactory performance of work to be reviewed at the end of each year.

Engagement of Project Scientists on contractual basis to work in the R&D in Earth System Sciences Program of Ministry of Earth Sciences, New Delhi.

1. Particulars of the Position

A. (i) Name of the Position : Project Scientist C

(ii) Number of Vacancies : 02(two)(one for PAMC-Atmospheric Science and one

For PAMC-Geoscience)

(iii)Emoluments : (Rs.15600 -39,100) + G.P.6,600/- +other admissible emoluments (under revision)

2. Eligibility Criteria

Essential:

i) Masters Degree or equivalent in any branch of Meteorology/Atmospheric Sciences/Physics/Geology/Geophysics/Mathematics/Applied Mathematics/Statistics from a recognized University with at least first class (60%) at Post Graduation level.

ii) Minimum three years experience of research in Atmospheric/Meteorological/Geosciences and related fields. Good experience of working on MS Office tools, internet tools.

Desirable:

i) Ph.D in any of the above mentioned subjects from a recognized university/institution.

ii) Working experience of handling/managing R& D projects.

Job Requirement: To plan and execute R & D in the domain of Scientific/Research programmes of the Ministry; appraisal, review & monitoring of projects; preparation of reports/recommendations/summary; coordination of scientific activities in the field, utilization of funds by ensuring compliance of procedures and formats, Assist in project management and review of literature to identify gap areas, assist the Program Division in Inter-ministerial consultation.

Upper Age Limit: Up to 40 years as on 17.11.2017

3. General Conditions:

1. The Ministry reserves the right to cancel the engagement process without assigning any reason.

2. Experience will be counted after completion of essential academic qualifications. A completed Ph.D. degree will be counted as three years of experience. In case a candidate has obtained the Ph.D. degree while in service, only her/his service period will be counted towards experience and she/he will not get any additional weightage in experience for acquiring Ph.D. towards total period of experiences.

3. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for attending the interview.

4. Further, selected candidates shall have no claim for their absorption or regularization in any institute or against any program of MoES.

5. The selected candidates will serve in the MoES Hqs at Prithvi Bhavan, Lodi Road.

b. Copies of certificates in support of educational qualifications, date of birth, and experience should be attached with the application. Candidates are required to produce the original certificates at the time of interview.

c. Applications, incomplete in any respect are liable to be summarily rejected. No representation against such rejection shall be entertained.
