Applications are invited for filling up of one post of Hardware Engineer [Rs 37,40067,000 (PB-4) (Grade Pay Rs. 8,700)] (pre-revised) on deputation including Short Term Contract (ISTC) basis in National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI), Department of Science and Technology as per details given below:

1. NAME OF THE POST: Hardware Engineer (one post)
2. SCALE OF PAY : Rs 37,400-67,000 (PB-4)( Grade Pay Rs. 8,700)
3. MODE OF RECRUITMENT: Deputation
4. PERIOD OF DEPUTATION : Period of deputation including the period of deputation (including short-term contract) in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other Organization / Department of the Central Govt. shall ordinarily not exceed five years.

The Maximum age limit for appointment by deputation to the post mentioned above shall not exceed 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of application. The last date of receipt of applications shall be within two months from the date of publication of this advertisement in the Employment News/Rozgar Samachar.

5. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Officers of the Central Government:

(a)

(i) holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; or

(ii) with five years service in the Grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in the scale of pay of Rs. 15,600-39,100 (Grade Pay Rs. 7,600) or equivalent in the parent cadre or department; and

(b)

(i) possessing the following Educational Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

(A) (i) Masters degree in Engineering or Technology with computer specialization in Spatial Data base, and

(ii) ten years on the job experience in the field of Spatial Data;

Or

(B) (i) Masters degree in Science or Mathematics or Economics or Statistics or Operational Research or Management ;

(ii) twelve years on the job experience in the field of Spatial Data ; and

(iii) Post-Graduate Diploma in Computer Science;

Or

(C) (i) Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Tech. in Computer or Electronics disciplines; and

(ii) twelve years on the job experience in the field of Spatial Data .

Desirable:

Minimum one years experience in Geo-Spatial Technologies, comprising any one or more of the fields of Remote Sensing , Surveying , Mapping, Geo-Spatial Information System (GIS ) and Global Positioning System (GPS).

GENERAL

1. The number of posts to be filled may vary. The Department reserves the right to fill vacancies arising subsequent to this advertisement under this recruitment process till the validity date of the panel of recommended candidates in the main list or waiting list. The Department also reserves the right to cancel the recruitment without assigning any reason.

2. The prescribed essential qualifications are minimum and the mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview. If the number of applications received in response to the advertisement is large, the Department may restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable limit through a short listing process based on a well defined criteria which may include possessing of qualifications / experience in a particular field as per the specific requirement of the Department. A panel of candidates will be prepared from the candidates called for interview which will remain valid for 06 months from the date of interview. The panel can be used to fill up vacancies arising as notified in this advertisement as well as vacancies arising subsequently due to any reason till the date of validity of the panel. No correspondence will be entertained from candidates who are not called for interview / selected for appointment. CANVASSING IN ANY FORM WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION OF CANDIDATURE.

1. Out station candidates called for the interview for the post of Hardware Engineer will be paid to and fro 1^st Class/III AC railway fare by shortest route, on production of proof of journey such as railway ticket(s) / number(s) etc.
2. The selected candidates are liable to be posted anywhere in India and outside.

3. The period of deputation including the period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other Organization/ Department of the Central Govt. shall ordinarily not exceed 5 years for the post of Hard ware Engineer.
4. The Curriculum Vitae duly supported by documents will be assessed by the Selection Committee while selecting candidates for appointment on deputation basis. The candidates who apply for the post will not be allowed to withdraw their candidature subsequently.
5. Applications received after the closing date or received incomplete in any respect are liable to be summarily rejected. DST shall not be responsible for any delay on the part of postal department for delivery of application even if posted before the last date. No representation against such rejection will be entertained.
6. HOW TO APPLY : Applications should be neatly typed on thick plain paper (A-4 size 210 x 297 mm) in the prescribed Curriculum Vitae Proforma (Annexure-I) given below. Applications on the Proforma other than the one given below will not be entertained.

(a) The applications of eligible and willing candidates along with attested copies of ACRs for the last five years may be forwarded in the Curriculum Vitae Proforma

through proper channel to Under Secretary (Rectt.), Department of Science and Technology, Technology Bhavan, New Mehrauli Road, New Delhi-110016 within two months by 5.30 PM from the date of publication (including the date of publication) of this advertisement in the Employment News / Rozgar Samachar. While forwarding the applications, the certificate given at the end of the Curriculum Vitae Proforma may also be completed. The application should be sent by Registered Post or through Speed Post in a cover superscribed Application for the post of Hardware Engineer on deputation basis and the Advertisement number.

Applications can also be delivered by hand to any of the following authorized officer by obtaining a duly signed receipt bearing date of receipt. No. claim shall be entertained in the absence of such a receipt from duly authorized officer who are as follows:

List of Applications received up to prescribed time and date shall be posted on DST website after closing date for receipt of applications. The candidates are advised to check the status of their applications received within the prescribed time limit any representation in this regard can be filed within seven days of date of posting the list

(b) Self-Attested copies of certificates in support of educational qualifications, date of birth and experience should be attached with the application. Candidates will have to produce the original certificates thereof as and when required.
