MEDICAL OFFICERS ON CONTRACT BASIS

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR MEDICAL OFFICER ON CONTRACT BASIS

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. Kochi Refinery invites application from eligible candidates for Medical Officers on contract basis at Kochi Refinery, Ambalamugal, Kochi.

Eligible candidates who possess the specified qualification and experience will be included in the panel of Medical Officers and they will be engaged as per requirement. Medical Officers who are engaged for duty are eligible for remuneration of Rs 2,500/- per shift duty.

The terms and conditions for appointment of Medical Officers on contract basis are given below:

1. The candidate shall

i) possess MBBS degree from a University recognized by the Medical Council of India. Self attested copy of the MBBS degree certificate should be submitted.
ii) have completed house surgency and should have registered with the Travancore Cochin Medical council, Trivandrum.
iii) not have completed 60 years as on 31st October 2017.
iv) possess Aadhaar card, PAN card and savings Bank account.

2. The Medical officer who is engaged on contract basis from 01.01.2018 shall

i) attend shift duty at the Occupational Health Centre ( OHC ) of BPCL Kochi Refinery, Ambalamugal including Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays and Hartal days.
ii) be available at the OHC during the specified shift duty timings, as per the shift schedule assigned. The three shift duty timings are: Day shift 0700 hrs to 1500 hrs, Evening shift 1500 hrs to 2300 hrs, Night shift 2300 hrs to 0700 hrs.
iii) attend the Night shift duty on a regular basis in batches of three days each. The Night shift duty schedule of each Medical officer will be informed through the main shift schedule that will be put up one week before the beginning of each month.
iv) shall attend the E shift or D shift duty, as per the requirement of the OHC. These two shift duties will not be on a regular basis and the same will be informed well in advance.
v) reside within 25 kms. from Ambalamugal.

3. Since the OHC is functioning on all the days of a year, , the services of the Medical officer should be available at the OHC on all the days of the year, depending upon the shift schedule that is put up.

4. The Medical officers can have Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, during their working hours, from the officers dining hall.

5. The Medical officer should make his own arrangements for to and fro transportation for attending work.

6. The period of contract shall be for one year from the date of commencement of the contract, which can be extended at the discretion of the Corporation.

7. The Medical Officer will be paid remuneration of Rs 2500/- per shift duty. The remuneration will be the same for all the days, irrespective of it being Saturday, Sunday, Holiday or Hartal day. It will also be the same for all the three shift duties.

8. Payment in respect of the professional services rendered by the Medical Officer will be calculated on a monthly basis against the total number of Eight hour shift duties done.

9. As per usual practice, TDS at the rate of 10% will be deducted from the amount payable. The same will not be deducted if a copy of the exemption certificate under Sec. 197 of the IT act is produced along with the monthly invoice / bill.

10. The Medical officers shall attend the HSE training provided by Kochi Refinery, before joining duty.

11. The engagement of the Medical officer is purely temporary on Contract basis and can be terminated by giving one months notice from either side.

12. The Medical officer will not have any claim for regular appointment in BPCL by virtue of him having worked in BPCL Kochi Refinery OHC on a contract basis, and he / she shall not move to any court / authority for seeking regularization based on the contract engagement.

13. The Medical officer will not be eligible for any of the benefits that are given to the regular employees.

14. The Management reserves the right to call for interview only the suitable candidates. Management may at its discretion, raise / relax the eligibility criteria in-order to restrict the number of candidates or to make available sufficient number of candidates to be called for interview.

15. The duties of the Medical officer shall include:

i. General outpatient treatment.
ii. Basic first aid treatment for emergencies, injuries, etc.
iii. Escorting patients in the ambulance on a need basis.
iv. Co-ordination with hospitals where employees or their dependants are admitted.
v. Pre-employment as well as Periodic medical examination of Contract and Permanent employees of BPCL Kochi Refinery.
vi. Any other duties as assigned from time to time, during the duty hours.

16. How to apply: Interested candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria may submit their application on an A4 size paper, to Chief Manager (HRD), BPCL Kochi Refinery, Ambalamugal, Kochi 682 302 by or before 31.10.2017.

Copies of the relevant certificates should be enclosed and a passport size color photograph shall be pasted at the top right corner of the application.

The application should be sent in an envelope that is superscribed with Application for Medical Officer on Contract Basis.

17. The criteria for selection will be experience and suitability.
