ADVERTISEMENT FOR APPOINTMENT OF VICE-CHANCELLOR

Applications are invited from eligible candidates preferably attaining 60 years of age or less as on the closing date of advertisement for the post of Vice Chancellor, Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Odisha at Rourkela. The Vice Chancellor shall be appointed by the Chancellor from among technical education experts from out of a panel of three names, recommended by a search-cum-selection committee constituted for the purpose in terms of Section-9 of the Biju Patnaik University of Technology Act, 2002. The Vice Chancellor shall hold the office normally for a term of five years from the date on which he/she enters upon his/her office. As the Vice Chancellor is the Principal Executive and Academic Officer of the University, he/she is required to have administrative acumen with a minimum of 10 years experience as Professor in a University system or 10 years in an equivalent position in reputed research and or Academic organisation as per UGC Regulation. Besides being an eminent technical education expert, he/she must be a person with integrity, vision and foresight to lead the University to heights of the academic & technical excellence.

The interested candidates are requested to apply in the prescribed proforma and email a soft copy (in PDF format) to bputvcselection2017@bput.ac.in . The hard copy of the application, duly authenticated by the candidate on every page is required to be sent to the Registrar, Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Chhend, Rourkela, PIN-769015(Odisha) superscribing Application for the post of Vice-Chancellor on the top of the envelop through speed post on or before 09 October, 2017 by 5:00 PM. Any application received after due date will not be considered. The candidates are required to submit information related to any pending or disposed of enquiries and litigations during last 10 years if any, along with the application. The in-service candidates are required to send their hard copy of application through proper channel with a No Objection Certificate along with specific comments of employer regarding the eligibility of the candidate, if any.
