National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) invites applications for filling up one post of Project Associate on contract basis initially for a period of one year extendable for another one year as per following criteria under the Scheme for training Community Volunteers in Disaster Response in selected 30 most flood prone districts of India (Aapda Mitra):-

Project Associate (1)

Educational Qualification : Master Degree in Social Work/ Sociology/Developmental Economics/ and related fields with respect to Social Sciences.

Skill & Attributes : (i) Good Communication & Networking skills

(ii) Good Reporting and Documentation skills

(iii) Knowledge of MS- Office and proficiency in typing and willingness to undertake responsibilities without any secretarial assistance.

Work Experience : (i) Minimum of 3-5 years in project/ programme management/ Implementation related with social development sector.

(ii) Experience of 2 years in the domain of disaster management is desirable.

Consolidated Fee : Rs. 35,000/- per month plus Rs.2500/- as local conveyance

Age Limit : Maximum age limit -65 years. Retired Govt. employees with Grade pay of Rs.6600/- and above with above mentioned qualifications /experience would also be eligible

Terms of Reference for the Project Associate under Aapdamitra Scheme for training community volunteers in disaster response in selected 30 most flood prone districts of India

1. Name of the Position : Project Associate

2. Educational Qualification: Masters Degree in Social Work/Sociology/Developmental Economics/and related fields with respect to Social Sciences.

6. Outline of the Tasks to be carried out:

i. To prepare and submit a detailed project implementation chart with segregation of project activities on a monthly basis based on the feedback received from the Project States.

ii. To coordinate and liaise with the 25 Project States on a weekly basis for smooth implementation of the scheme and monitor the progress with respect to project activities

iii. To assist the Programme Division of NDMA in liaison with National Technical Agency in roll-out of the Training of Trainers ( TOT) for the Project States.

iv. To assist the Programme Division of NDMA in dissemination of the training modules and materials to Project States.

v. To assist the Programme Division of NDMA in state wise selection of the training institutions who will be imparting training to selected volunteers.

vi. To liaise with Project States/Districts to get the list of volunteers and create and update this database of the selected and trained volunteers with their essential contact coordinates.

vii. To assist the Programme Division of NDMA in ensuring timely release of funds to the Project States(SDMAs)

viii. To generate reports on the progress of the project deliverables on a monthly and quarterly basis based on the inputs available for the Project States

ix. To assist the Programme Division of NDMA to organize the meetings of the project monitoring committee and follow up on its recommendations

x. Any other work that may be considered necessary for overall implementation of the scheme

7. Duration of Engagement: Initially the engagement will be for a period of 12 months, extendable for another 12 months based on the performance levels .

8. Fee/Emoluments : The consolidated fee payable on a monthly basis shall be Rs.35,000/- plus Rs.2500/- as local conveyance

9. No. of Leaves: Total of 8 in a year

10. General Conditions: The engagement of Project Associate will be governed as per extant rules and guidelines for posts under the said category issued by Administration Division of NDMA for hiring Junior Consultants.
