Recruitment of Scientific Assistant in Indian Metrological Department Examination, 2011 held on 18.12.2011 - Declaration of Final Result.

For recruitment to the post of Scientific Assistant in Indian Metrological Department, an open competitive Examination was held on 18.12.2011 at different centres across the country. The result of qualified candidates in Paper-I for evaluation of Paper-II was declared on 12.1.2012. Subsequently, the Commission has declared the result of the qualified candidates selected for Interview on 18.2.2012..

2. Now on the basis of the marks obtained in Paper-I, Paper-II & Interview, the Commission has recommended 464 for appointment to the post of Scientific Assistant in IMD. The category-wise details of these candidates are given as under:

3. Tie cases have been resolved by applying following criteria, one after another, as applicable till the Tie is resolved :-

(i) Total marks in written examination.

(ii) Marks in Paper-II

(iii) Marks in Paper-I

(iv) Date of birth, with older candidates placed higher.

(v) Alphabetical order in which first names of the candidates appear on line.

4. Marks obtained by the first and last selected candidates for the different categories are given below :

5. 02 candidates have been kept as provisional by concerned regional offices although they are included in the Select List. Concerned RDs/DDs will check the eligibility of such candidates thoroughly before their nomination.

6. IMD is being advised to allot the candidates to different States strictly in accordance with merit cum-option criterion.

7. The above said lists are purely provisional and subject to the candidates fulfilling all the eligibility conditions prescribed in the Notice of the said examination and also subject to, among other things thorough verification of their identity with reference to this photographs, signatures, handwritings, etc. on the application forms, admission certificates, etc. The candidature of the candidates are liable to be cancelled by respective Regional Directors in case of the candidates found not fulfilling the eligibility conditions or for any other genuine reasons.

8. For candidates belonging to reserved categories for whom certain percentage of vacancies are reserved as per policy of the Government, the category status is indicated against their roll numbers. It is important to note that some of these candidates have been declared qualified only in the category mentioned against their roll numbers. If any candidate does not actually belong to the category mentioned against her name, she may not be eligible to be included in the list. It is, therefore, in the interest of candidates concerned to contact immediately the respective Regional Offices of the Commission in all such cases where they do not belong to the categories against their Roll numbers.
