2017 Skill Development Program 2017

Skill Development Program 2017 for training of candidates in different trades is being conducted by National Institute of Technology Patna, such that they become self-employed or may get employed in Industries and different organizations where such skilled personnel are required.

1. Skill Development Program (Non Residential) in following Trades:

Note:(#) Minimum eligibility for ARPT02, CEPT02, MEPT03 trades will be relaxed, in case candidates are not available with minimum qualification stated above.

2. Duration: 3 Months from May 2017 to August 2017

3. Intake/ trade: as per above table in different trades

4. Age limit: 18-45 years.

5. Minimum Qualification: Candidate must have passed Qualifying Examination as per requirement of the different trades (Listed above) from a recognized State/ Central Board.

6. Reservation: Seats under OBC (NCL), SC, ST and PWD categories shall be allotted to candidates producing valid certificate issued by competent authority as per list Notified by Govt.

of Bihar. Candidates claiming reservation are required to apply with valid copy of certificate issued by the Competent Authority.

7. Relaxation: Relaxation in age shall be allowed to SC/ ST/ and differently able (PwD) candidates as per rules of Govt. of India.

8. Course Syllabus and Evaluation:

i) The details of the syllabus/ course content and working Practical session plan for the trade training shall be as prepared by respective department.

ii) Class Size for each trade shall have maximum 21 to 23 students; for each trade, where intake is greater than 23.

iii) The Teaching/ Practice plan will also include evaluation schedule.

iv) There shall be continuous evaluation system and periodic test shall be conducted on regular basis.

v) Minimum one test per month plus one Final Trade Test will be conducted for each admitted candidates. Each Test will be evaluated for Full Marks 100.

vi) At end of the program there shall be a final Test of full marks 100.

vii) All evaluations shall be internal, and based on training imparted to the candidates. Major part of evaluation shall be Practical and viva only.

viii) The program shall be conducted as per working days of the institute, i.e. 5/6 days a week and holidays shall be observed as per notification of NIT Patna.

9. Course Certification and Placement:

i) The selected candidates are required to attend theory classes and practical sessions as per time table of the respective program.

ii) Candidates who have minimum 75% attendance in theory and practical (separately) will be eligible for final evaluation of Theory and practical components separately for the trades in which they have been admitted.

iii) The candidates obtaining minimum 45% marks in Aggregate (written and practical test) will be eligible for Certificate and placement by the Institute.

iv) The candidates who do not meet the above requirement but has 75 % attendance shall be given a certificate of completion of training only.

v) The candidates who do not complete the course/ training or discontinue with or without information shall have no claim of certificate, nor will they be accommodated in next phase of training program.

vi) The candidates admitted for training must maintain discipline and decorum of the program/ Institute. If they are found involved in any unlawful activity then they may be expelled from the program.

vii) The Institute reserves the right of revising selection rules and course content from time to time.

10. Selection Process:

i) The selection of candidate for any trade will be based on Merit list prepared based on percentage aggregate marks in minimum eligibility qualifying examination for respective trades on 12th Marks. However, minimum eligibility for ARPT02, CEPT02, MEPT03 trades will be relaxed, in case candidates are not available with minimum qualification stated above.

ii) Applicants name for Draftsmanship trade shall also appear in merit list for other trades where merit list is based on aggregate marks in 12th examination.

iii) If there are two candidates having same aggregate of marks then candidate with earlier date of birth shall be given first preference in seat allotment of his/ her choice. Else both may be allowed same trade even if seats are not available.

iv) Minimum eligibility for some of the trades marked as (#) lower at S. No 1, have been relaxed, however candidate with lower qualification will be given lower preference i.e. considered only if no candidates with minimum prescribed qualification is available for that trade.

v) Allotment of seat in any trade will be done by selection committee based on merit list prepared for selection as detailed at section 8 (i) and (ii) above.

vi) Selection committee constituted for the purpose of admission shall have following members as nominated by the Director NIT Patna:

i. Chairman Selection Committee

ii. Coordinator - Skill Development Program.

iii. HOD (Respective department offering Courses) of the Institute

iv. OBC Representative (Faculty of the Institute)

v. SC/ ST Representative (Faculty of the Institute)

vii) The Institute may decide to conduct Interview of some weightage for personality assessment and allotment of trades as per preference of the candidates.

viii) On the date of counseling Candidates are required to report in person with original documents for verification and confirmation of selection/ admission.

11. Application Procedure:

i) Application form for admission to Skill Development Program be down loaded from NIT Patna website www.nitp.ac.in or Industries department website www.industries.bih.nic.in .

ii) Only one application be submitted

iii) Candidates must apply on prescribed application form only with following self-attested documents

(a) Photocopy of 12th pass certificate

(b) 12th marks sheet

(c) OBC (NLC), SC, ST, PD certificate issued by competent authority. (only for those who claim for seat under reserved category)

(d) Photo Identity card such as 12th Admit card, Aadhaar card, valid Driving License etc

iv) Application with all documents and DD must be submitted by the last date and time of submission by hand or by Speed post/ ordinary post to The Program Coordinator - SDP, Department of Computer Science & Engg., National Institute of Technology Patna, Patna - 800005 (Bihar)

v) The Top of the application envelop must have been written as Skill Development Program: 2017.

vi) Applications received after due date and time shall be rejected and not be considered for selection. Fee received is non-refundable.

vii) Admit card for admission test may be downloaded.

12. Application Fee:

Demand draft (DD) of Rs 300/- issued by any bank in favour of NIT Patna Skill Development Center a/c payable at Patna. Candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PD category are required to deposit only Rs 150/- DD. Payment can also be made through cash-challan at Allahabad Bank branch at NIT Patna.

13. Counselling and Original Documents for verification:

Candidates desirous for selection must report in person with following documents in original for verification and confirmation of admission

(a) 12th pass certificate

(b) 12th marks sheet

(c) OBC (NLC), SC, ST, PD certificate issued by competent authority. (only for those who claim for seat under reserved category)

(d) Photo Identity card such as 12th Admit card, Aadhaar card, valid Driving License etc

(e) Two passport size colored Photograph

14. Course Fee: Skill development training program is fully sponsored and funded by Industries department Govt. of Bihar and Conducted by National Institute of Technology Patna. Hence

NO FEE WILL BE CHARGED FROM CANDIDATES SELECTED FOR THE PROGRAM.

15. Hostel facility: No Hostel facility to the selected candidates will be provided by NIT Patna. Therefore selected candidates are required to make their own arrangement for stay and food for the period of training at Patna.
