NIT, Goa invites applications from the Indian Nationals for filling up the vacant posts of Assistant Professors (AGP 7000/8000/-), Professors positons. Reservation policy of the Central Govt. is applicable for permissible cadres. GENERAL DETAILS FOR RECRUITMENT OF FACULTY POSITIONS ON REGULAR BASIS
1. Faculty required for various Departments is given below:
- a) Computer Science & Engineering
- b) Electrical & Electronics Engineering
- c) Electronics & Communication Engineering
- d) Chemistry, Mathematics and English
2. Reservation policy of the Central Govt. is applicable for permissible cadres.
3. The candidates may download the General Details, Format for Application, Credit Point Format, Copy of Statutes regarding Scale of Pay, Recruitment System, required Qualifications, Experience, Credit Point, etc. from institute website: http: www.nitgoa.ac.in.
4. The complete Application along with filled up Credit Point Format (separate application for each department, if a candidate wishes to apply for more than one department) with supporting documents shall be sent by post to the Registrar, National Institute of Technology Goa, Farmagudi, Ponda-403401 Goa, superscribing the envelop "Application for the Post of Asst.Professor/Professor". The scanned copy of filled up Application with supporting documents may be sent to Email ID: registrar@nitgoa.ac.in.
5. Candidates working in Govt. Organizations either should get their application forwarded through proper channel or will be required to submit a "No Objection Certificate" from their employers at the time of interview, if called for the same.
6. Forwarding of Application or NOC is not required for internal regular candidates working at NIT Goa
7. By submission of an application, the candidate will not get any right to be called for interview. If a candidate is called for interview, he/ she will not get any right for selection and appointment. There is no system or practice to send any written communication to all those candidates who are not called for interview or who are not selected after interview, indicating the reasons for rejections.
8. Ph.D. degree (awarded at the time of submission of Application) is essentially required for all posts.
9. All requirements shall be examined by Scrutiny Committees to be constituted by the Institute, based on fulfillment at the time of submission of applications.
10.Incomplete applications, applications submitted without signature on each page, applications which are not clearly legible, applications submitted without supporting documents, will not be placed before Scrutiny Committees and the same will be treated as rejected.
11. The Recruitment Process may be cancelled by the Competent Authority any time and no candidate will have any claim for issue of appointment letter, as a matter of right, even after recommendations by the Selection (Interview) Committees.

Qualification and other terms and conditions of appointment of Academic Staff
Note 1:
(1) Any change in the grade pay will be through open advertisement and on recommendation of duly constituted selection committee, except where specifically exempted in these rules.
(2) All new entrants shall have Ph.D. in the relevant or equivalent discipline and shall have first class in the preceding degrees.
(3) For existing faculty members who completed their Ph.D. along-with their normal teaching load of Institute or quality improvement programme, the enrolment period of Ph.D. will be counted as teaching experience.
(4) Contribution to Institute Administration shall be recommended by concerned Head or Chairman and approved by the Director. Contribution to departmental Administration shall be recommended by concerned Head and approved by the Director.
(5) For the departments which are not having any vacancy, movement in higher Academic Grade Pay or cadre shall be carried out as per specified selection process but it will be restricted to only for serving faculty members of the respective departments.
(6) The permanent faculty members who have put in more than ten years experience, but have not acquired Ph.D. qualification as on the date of these notification shall be mapped into four-tier flexible system as one time measure as per following norms:
(a) Permanent faculty with age fifty or above:
The Assistant Professors with Academic Grade Pay of Rs.7000 shall be mapped at the level of Assistant Professor with Academic Grade Pay of Rs.8000, provided they have at least 10 credit points in their lifetime,
The Assistant Professors with Academic Grade Pay of Rs.8000 shall be mapped at the level of Associate Professor with Academic Grade Pay of Rs.9500, provided they have at least 25 credit points in their lifetime.
The Associate Professors with Academic Grade Pay of Rs.9000 shall be mapped at the level of Associate Professor with Academic Grade Pay of Rs.9500, provided they
have at least 25 credit points in their lifetime:
Provided, they have been found suitable through a Selection Committee duly constituted under the Statutes.
(b) Permanent faculty members less than fifty years of age shall be sponsored for Ph.D. in any of the Indian Institutes of Technology or National Institutes of Technology duly provided a facility to take study leave of three-years from their respective National Institute of Technology and on completion of the Ph.D., they shall compete to get into the four tier system as per the new recruitment rules.
